Paul Spillane
President, Head of Research Activities. Paul has been in the securities industry for over 20 years. He started his career at Goldman Sachs where he sold fixed income, foreign exchange, commodities, futures, and options products. Subsequently, he worked at Deutsche Bank as a managing director and senior member of the executive team responsible for building the global equities businesses. Most recently, he was responsible for establishing Deutsche Bank’s Global Relationship Management program. Paul graduated from Colby College and received his MBA from Columbia Business School. Prior to his career in financial services, Paul was a professional baseball player for three years. He lives in Connecticut and has three children.

Chris Brodersen
Managing Director, Research Sales. Chris has been an institutional salesman for the past 16 years. Prior to joining Solley, Chris worked at C.J. Lawrence, Deutsche Bank, UBS Warburg, Robertson Stephens, and RBC/Dain Rauscher. Chris graduated from Syracuse University with a BS in Finance and currently lives in Manhattan with his wife.

Marc Fowler
Managing Director, Research Sales. Marc has 20 years of experience in the financial services industry and has been an institutional equity salesman at E.F. Hutton, PaineWebber, and UBS Warburg. Marc graduated from the University of Washington with a BA in Zoology and has an MBA from INSEAD – The European Institute of Business Administration. Marc currently lives in Sudbury, MA with his wife and three children.

Jeff Jacobs
Managing Director, Research Sales. Jeff has over 12 years of experience in the financial services industry. After beginning his career in the private client group at Merrill Lynch, Jeff transitioned to institutional equity sales at Volpe Brown Whelan and has also worked for Prudential Securities and most recently at Wachovia Securities. Jeff received his BA from Vanderbilt University and his MBA from the Amos Tuck School at Dartmouth College.

Marthe McLinden
Managing Director, Research Sales. Marthe has worked in institutional equity sales over the past 20 years. Before joining Solley, Marthe worked at Merrill Lynch and Credit Suisse First Boston. She graduated from Indiana University and currently lives in Madison, New Jersey, with her husband and their 3 sons.

Michael Rhea
Managing Director, Research Sales. Michael began his career as a corporate litigator in New York and has been in institutional equity sales for over 15 years. He initially began his career at Lehman Brothers where he spent five years. After a brief period with Equitable (Suntrust) Securities, he spent the last 11 years as an executive director covering top 50 accounts at CIBC World Markets.

Ed Saunders
Managing Director, Research Sales. Ed has over 20 years experience in institutional securities sales. He began his career as a senior fixed income salesman with Salomon Brothers and Merrill Lynch before becoming a senior equity salesman with McDonald Investments and Putnam Lovell Securities. Ed has a BA in Economics and a BS in Engineering from Rutgers University. He lives in Ridgewood, New Jersey, with his wife and 3 children.

John Serson
Managing Director, Research Sales. John has over 20 years experience as an institutional equity salesman. He began his career with C.J. Lawrence where he worked for seven years. John has also worked for Nomura International, McDonald Investments and Putnam Lovell Securities. He is a graduate of Manhattan College.

Chet Smith
Managing Director, Research Sales. Chet has nearly 17 years of experience in financial services. After starting his career at PaineWebber as an equity research associate, he joined Goldman Sachs in 1990 and most recently was a senior research salesman covering the New York region. Chet has a BS in Business Analysis from Indiana University and an MBA from the University of Chicago. He lives in Connecticut with his wife and two daughters.

Phil Stire
Managing Director, Research Sales. Phil has 19 years of experience in the financial services industry. After 10 years of private client sales, he transitioned to institutional equity sales. Phil has held senior sales positions at Rauscher Pierce Refsnes, First Albany Corp. and most recently at Advest, Inc. Phil graduated from Tulane University and lives in Albany, NY with his wife and three sons.

Kathy Walton
Managing Director, Global Basic Industries Sales. Kathy has been in the financial services industry for over 12 years. She spent five years as an equities analyst covering metals and mining equities in the Global Research and Economics Group at Merrill Lynch. Kathy left Merrill Lynch and went to UBS as a director of Global Basic Materials Sales. Most recently, she spent 3 years as Co-Head of Global Sector Sales at Deutsche Bank, specializing in basic industries. Kathy has a BA in English from the George Washington University in Washington, DC. She received a Masters Degree in Business Administration from the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana.

Pascal Cellier
Director, Research Sales. Pascal has over 16 years of experience in the financial services industry. After starting his career in research at Conning & Co., Pascal was a research salesman at Barclays Bank, Montgomery Securities and Hambrecht & Quist. He later held sales and management positions at Badger International, meVC.com, and Louis Capital Markets. Pascal received his undergraduate degree from Institut Superieur de Gestion in Paris and his MBA from The Barney School of Business of the University of Hartford. He is fluent in French, English and Spanish and is conversational in German.

Michael Hussain
Director, Research Sales. Michael has over 10 years of experience in the financial services industry. He began his career at Morgan Stanley and has spent the last four years in institutional equity sales at UBS Warburg and Janney Montgomery Scott. Michael graduated from the University of California at San Diego with a BA in Economics and a minor in European History. He also holds a MBA from Indiana University and is the co-founder of a non-profit cancer fundraising foundation.

Lee Hutter
Director, Research Sales. Lee has over eight years of experience in financial services. Most recently, Lee worked in business development for Yahoo! Finance, focusing on a number of strategic initiatives. Prior to Yahoo!, he worked for SoundView Technology Group (formerly Wit Capital Group) building the company’s operations in Japan and Europe. Before attending graduate school, Lee marketed Japanese equities to U.S. institutional investors for Merrill Lynch in New York. He holds a BA from Cornell University and an MBA from Columbia Business School.

Lara Kozersky
Director, Research Sales. Lara has worked in institutional equity sales for over 12 years. Prior to joining Solley, Lara worked at C.E. Unterberg Towbin, Josephthal & Co., and Needham & Company where she focused on emerging growth companies in the technology, retail and healthcare segments. She received her BS in Business Administration from Manhattan College and resides in Mount Kisco, NY, with her husband and two sons.

Joy Malone
Director, Research Sales. Joy has over 20 years of experience in institutional equity sales. After starting her career at Wertheim & Company, Joy was a co-founder of Punk Ziegel & Knoell, an independent research boutique. She was recently a Managing Director with Tucker Anthony Capital Markets. Joy graduated from Hope College with a BA in Art and Psychology and lives in Glen Rock, New Jersey, with her husband.

Doug Maurer, CFA
Director, Research Sales. Doug has been in institutional sales for over 13 years. After starting his career in institutional fixed income sales at Marshall & Ilsley Bank, he held senior equity sales positions at Adams, Harkness & Hill, Bluestone Capital Securities, and FTN Financial Securities. Doug graduated with a BME and MBA from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a MM from Northwestern University. He is an accomplished saxophonist and lives with his wife in Upper Montclair, NJ.

Murphy O’Flaherty
Director, Research Sales. Murphy began her career in financial services at Kidder Peabody. For the past 10 years, she has worked in fixed income sales at Morgan Stanley and equity sales at Banc of America Securities. Murphy graduated cum laude from Yale College and holds an MBA from Duke.

Tim Savage
Director, Research Sales. Tim has over 13 years of experience in the financial securities industry. Prior to joining Solley, Tim worked at Variant Research Corporation, Credit Suisse First Boston and Alex. Brown and Sons. Tim graduated from the University of Virginia with a BA in Economics and currently lives in Annapolis, MD, with his wife and daughter.

Mark Fote
Vice President, Research Sales. Mark has over four years of experience in the financial services industry. He began his career at Sanford Bernstein and later spent two years in institutional equity sales covering the mid-Atlantic geography for Lehman Brothers. Prior to joining Lehman, Mark received his MBA in finance from Indiana University.

Steve Sacher
Vice President, Research Sales. Steve has four years of experience in the financial services industry. After beginning his career as a sell-side healthcare services research analyst at ABN AMRO, Steve transitioned to institutional equity sales at Leerink Swann. Prior to working in the financial services industry, Steve spent seven years working as a healthcare consultant at both PricewaterhouseCoopers and Coopers & Lybrand, LLC. Steve received his BA from the University of Rochester (NY) and his MBA from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University.

Chris Virelli
Vice President, Research Sales. Prior to joining Solley, Chris worked in Deutsche Bank’s Global Equities Relationship Management division for three years. Chris graduated from Cornell University with a BA in History.

Peter Williams
Vice President, Research Sales. Peter has over five years of experience in the financial services industry. Prior to joining Solley, Peter spent the last three years at Credit Suisse First Boston in Chicago working in the Private Wealth Group. Prior to CSFB, Peter interned at Goldman Sachs and worked at A.G. Edwards. He received his MBA in Finance from Indiana University and currently lives with his wife in Louisville, Kentucky.

Travis Finkle
Associate, Research Sales. Prior to joining Solley, Travis worked for UBS Financial Services in the Private Client Group for over two years and has also worked for Pioneer Investments and Euromoney Institutional Investor PLC in London. Travis has a BA in Economics from Hobart College.

Kate McCormack
Associate, Research Sales. Prior to joining Solley, Kate worked as an Institutional Research Salesperson for four years in Jefferies & Company’s New York office. She is a graduate of Boston University.
